USCG Cutter Alert (WMEC-630) is one of the official Coast Guard vessels for the 113th Astoria Regatta.

The ALERT will be in port as the official Coast Guard cutter for the Astoria Regatta festival, the officers and crew will participate in many Regatta activities.

The United States Coast Guard Cutter ALERT is the newest of the 210' medium endurance cutters constructed. The keel was laid on January 5, 1968 and she was commissioned on Coast Guard Day on August 4, 1969.

ALERT lives by her motto of "Rescue, Enforce, Defend" by patrolling the Northern Pacific Ocean from Mexico to Canada. ALERT's main missions include homeland security patrols, search and rescue, boating safety, and enforcing laws concerning fisheries, illegal immigration and contraband.

ALERT is always prepared to respond to search and rescue incidents to protect life and property at sea. To aid in the completion of her missions, ALERT has two small boats used for boardings on the high seas and search and rescue while in port. ALERT can also accommodate the Coast Guard HH-65A "Dolphin" to assist in search and rescue and law enforcement.

ALERT calls Astoria her home when she is not underway. Her berth is at the foot of 17th Street next to the Columbia River Maritime Museum.
